Why true leaders never stop being students
In every role I’ve held—educator, mentor, civic leader—I’ve come back to a simple truth: learning is a lifelong journey. It doesn’t stop at graduation. It deepens with humility, grows with service, and flourishes when shared with others.
“Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.”
— Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
This wisdom has shaped how I approach leadership, education, and service. Learning is not just about accumulating information—it is about transforming ourselves to better serve our communities.
- De La Salle University, Taft, Manila, Philippines – MS in Business Administration (Summa Cum Laude)
- University of the East, Recto, Manila, Philippines – BS in Business Administration (Summa Cum Laude)
- Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey – BS in Civil Engineering (Summa Cum Laude)
Each degree sharpened my perspective, but it was the lessons learned through leadership that shaped my character.
- Leadership Jacksonville – Class of 2019
- Lifework Leadership – Class of 2022
- Bridges Leadership – Class of 2023
- Leadership Florida – Education Class 9 (2024–2025)

These programs broadened my perspective and deepened my ability to lead with empathy and purpose.
“Learning is the key to human value. One who learns and teaches becomes a shining light in the darkness.”
“When I started to learn, I realized that I knew nothing.”
— Rumi
This humility is essential. The more we understand the world, the more we recognize the depths of what remains unknown.
“Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form. Be like a tree and let the dead leaves drop. Keep growing.”
— Rumi
To grow, we must let go—of pride, of assumptions, of fear. That is how education shapes resilient leaders: not by giving all the answers, but by nurturing the courage to ask better questions.
Whether mentoring students, teaching adult learners, or leading civic dialogues, I strive to live by the principle that education is both a right and a responsibility. It is the most powerful way to build bridges, solve problems, and leave a lasting legacy.
To those I lead and serve, I say:
Stay curious. Stay grounded. Stay growing. Because true leadership begins the moment we realize—we are all still learning.
